从胡雪岩故居到柏悦酒店研学：解码江南奢宅的古今对话
Last week, we led students to explore the red walls and black tiles of Hu Xueyan’s former residence and also experienced the cloud-top elegance of the Park Hyatt Hangzhou. One is the mansion of a prominent merchant in the late Qing Dynasty in the Jiangnan region, and the other is a contemporary benchmark of top-tier hotels. Despite a century apart, they share astonishing similarities in design logic: How to tell the story of “Jiangnan” through space? How to make luxury self-evident? In this article, we will decode the design secrets of the Park Hyatt and compare them with the wisdom of traditional residences.
胡雪岩故居的三进式布局包括以下几个部分：
1.轿厅：这是胡雪岩故居的入口部分，作为迎接客人和处理初步接待的地方。
2.百狮楼（正厅）：作为故居的主要会客场所，百狮楼是胡雪岩待客和议事的主要地方。楼内装饰豪华，梁架上使用珍贵的银杏木，展示了其奢华的建筑风格。
3.后花园：位于百狮楼之后，后花园是胡雪岩家族成员和客人休闲的场所。这里环境优美，有亭廊、曲桥和假山等，提供了一个宁静的休闲空间。
这种三进式布局不仅体现了胡雪岩故居的宏伟和豪华，也反映了其主人对家族礼仪和社交活动的严格要求。
Reconstruction of the Three Step Horizontal Sequence of Hu Xueyan’s Former Residence into a Vertical Dimension Narrative
The three in one layout of Hu Xueyan’s former residence includes the following parts:
1. Sedan Hall
2. Baishi Tower (main hall)
3. Back Garden
This three in layout not only reflects the grandeur and luxury of Hu Xueyan’s former residence, but also reflects the strict requirements of its owner for family etiquette and social activities.

他们将酒店一层的厅堂打造成了三个“盒子”，层层递进。第一个“盒子”借助铜元素、丝线、水波纹等元素，以现代的方式演绎了设计师对江南以及西湖的印象；第二个“盒子”则充分从胡雪岩故居中提取设计元素，以无数几何形态铜雕立面装饰并辅以金箔的面貌出现，诠释了柏悦的私家宅邸的理念；第三个盒子便是电梯间，简约的装饰却透露出浓郁的江南风情，由这里便可直达位于37层的大堂。
They transformed the hall on the first floor of the hotel into three “boxes”, each building on the previous one. The first “box” uses copper elements, silk threads, water ripples and other elements to modernly interpret the designer’s impression of Jiangnan and West Lake. The second “box” fully extracts design elements from the Hu Xueyan residence, presenting itself with countless geometric copper sculptures on the facade and gold foil, embodying the concept of a private residence of Park Hyatt. The third “box” is the elevator lobby, with simple decoration but rich Jiangnan charm. From here, one can directly reach the lobby on the 37th floor.
地面入口至37层空中大堂的电梯轿厢，通过深纹大理石与金箔屏风隐喻传统宅院的“门厅-轿厅-正厅”递进，实现“物理高度”与“礼制深度”的双重叠加。
在此其以胡雪岩故居作为主要的设计灵感，致力于打造出一间高空中的江南宅院，例如在酒店公区随处可见水云纹大理石，就充满了江南水墨氤氲的气质。
The elevator car from the ground entrance to the 37th floor sky lobby, through deep patterned marble and gold foil screens, metaphorically represents the traditional courtyard’s “lobby sedan hall main hall” progression, achieving a dual overlay of “physical height” and “ritual depth”.
Taking Hu Xueyan’s former residence as the main design inspiration, it is committed to creating a high-altitude Jiangnan courtyard. For example, water cloud patterned marble can be seen everywhere in the hotel public area, which is full of the misty atmosphere of Jiangnan ink painting.
餐厅丝绸屏风由苏绣大师带领百位绣娘手工完成，却在图案设计阶段使用Rhino+Grasshopper算法生成传统纹样的分形结构，形成“手工刺绣-数字预制”的混合生产模式。
The silk screen in the restaurant was handmade by a hundred embroidery masters led by Su Xiu. However, during the pattern design stage, Rhino+Grasshopper algorithm was used to generate the fractal structure of traditional patterns, forming a mixed production mode of “manual embroidery digital prefabrication”.
杭州梅花手工丝质地毯，迷你吧的中国漆器斗柜，所有设计均为定制化，极具江南诗意和中式风情。客房床头墙上则是独特的梅花剪影设计，在夜间绽放晶莹柔光，伴随着杭州的华灯初上，无不是繁花盛景。
The hand-woven silk carpets with plum blossom patterns in the guest rooms of Hangzhou, the Chinese lacquer cabinets in the mini-bar, all the designs are customized, exuding a poetic charm of the Jiangnan region and a distinct Chinese style. On the headboard walls of the guest rooms, there are unique silhouettes of plum blossoms, which emit a soft and glittering light at night, complementing the initial lighting up of the city of Hangzhou, creating a scene of blooming flowers everywhere.
